15-50 November Sun Run           1st - 4th November 2008

Regulations

Auto Club Eclance will promote a classic car tour for cars manufactured prior to 31.12.1981 to be known as the 15-50 November Sun Run.

The event is open to members of the Auto Club Eclance and to other entrants who will become members of the club for the duration of the event.

Start and finish

The start will be at Eclance in the Aube region of France. The finish will be in Aix les Bains.

Route

The route will be approximately 1400 kilometres and the event will take place over 4 days.

Driving standards

Please bear in mind that the majority of the route will take place on quiet country roads. You are expected to drive with care and courtesy to all other road users. Where you meet oncoming traffic please give way to the other road user. Treat all give way signs (cedez le passage) as stop signs.

Items that must be carried

A new law has come into effect in France from the 1st of July 2008 and the following items must be carried in the car.

  • Fluorescent waistcoats, one per seat.
  • 2 x warning triangles.

Also recommed are the following.

  • 1st Aid kit.
  • Spare bulb kit.
  • Tow rope
  • Fan belt
  • Plastic service sheet 4m x 4m to prevent contamination of oil.

Maps

The event will use the following maps. Michelin Local maps numbers 313 320 327 331 328 333  these maps are either 150.000 or 175.000 scale.

Sweatshirt

An event sweatshirt will be given to all entrants.

Identification

The organisers will provide a rally plaque which must be displayed on the front of the car.

Classes

The event will have the following classes.

Class 1.  cars built up to and including 31-12-1967

Class 2. cars built up to and including 31-01-1974

Class 3.  cars built up to and including 31-12-1981

Awards

  • 1st overall Auto Club Eclance  Trophy.
  • Class 1 award.
  • Class 2 award.
  • Class 3 award.
  • Finishers award.

Crews are limited to one award only with the exception of a finishers award.

Entries

A maximum of 25 cars will be excepted. The entry list will open forthwith and close on the 19th September 2008.
Navigation

Navigation is by road book.


Trip meters are allowed but no G.P.S.

Distances will be given in kilometres.

The conversion from kilometres to miles is 0.62

Controls

All out controls will be manned.
Passage controls (P.C.) may be manned, if manned crews must obtain a signature, if unmanned a code board will be substituted.
Secret passage controls may be sited on the correct route.

Code boards

Code boards will be placed on the correct route on the nearside only. (right hand side).
These will be in the form of A4 boards. They will be white with black letters or numbers or a combination of the two. An example will be on display at the start.

e.g   AX BD AR K8 V4 44 etc..

Crews must put the code in the next available space on the process card.

Penalty System

Late departure at an out control, one point per minute maximum 15 points.
More than 15 min late or non show at an out control 30 points.
One point for each code board and passage control missed.
The crew with the least amount of points will be declared the winner.
In the event of a tie the oldest car will take the award.
If the years are tied then the car with the smallest engine size will take the award.


Results and prize giving

Results will be announced at the final evening dinner which will take place at the Hotel Aquaviva in Aix les Bains on Tuesday 4th November 2008.
